Letter from New Manager

July 1, 2021

Hello Seawinders!

My name is Letty Couch. I’ve loved Seawind for 12 years now! Some of you might still remember me walking around with my two little daughters and a huge belly (she’s 11 now). When we first got here, it was only going to be for one semester, but Seawind quickly became family. We might leave for a little while, but somehow we always come back home.

This time, I have come back to Seawind as Park Manager. When the position was offered to me, I could not turn it down. We loved being a Winter Texans and a long-term residents. We loved volunteering and participating in the activities. I also enjoyed working at Seawind as the Winter Texan Activities Director, office assistant, and even in housekeeping. I am eager to work with y’all as Park Manager during this new season in our life.

I’m sure there will be a few hick ups at first, but I believe that when we all work together, we can continue to make Seawind our perfect home away from home. I ask for your patience while we sort things out at the office. There are a few changes coming with a new commissioner and a new park manager. Mostly, we are going to enforce all the policies and guidelines that are already in place (review the policies and guidelines on your last receipt as a refresher). There is limited overflow parking, so keep that in mind when bringing extra vehicles, RVs, or boats. We still have Open Storage sites for RVs next to the Rec Hall for $55/mon if you want to secure your spot. Any and all personal agreements with prior management are null and void immediately.

Remember to confirm your arrival exact date at least 2 weeks prior, as payment will be required starting on your reserved date. Failure to arrive on your reserved date will void the reservation unless full payment has been made by that day.

I understand that some of us have been in Seawind for many years, and change doesn’t come easy to all of us. Please know and understand that any changes that might occur will be for the improving of Seawind and all the residents. If a more detailed explanation is needed or any changes are required, we will let y’all know what they are as soon as we make them official.

Our office is still staffed by Marilyn Walz (Assistant Manager) and Maya Gardener (Office Assistant). And Jill Mann Osse is still our Winter Texan Activities Director for the following season. We currently don’t have any Seawind Maintenance, but we’re looking into filling those positions.

I look forward to seeing y’all very soon. Enjoy the rest of your summer and see y’all when you get here. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call our office. We’ll be glad to help.

Yours truly,

Letty Couch

Manager, Seawind RV Resort
